Peoples Bank & Trust, McPherson, KS, Licenses Merchant Captureand Merchant Remit Software

Springfield, MO - DataTrade announced that Peoples Bank & Trust in McPherson, KS has licensed DataTrade's suite of software that provides banks and their customers the ability to capture and process image-based remittance payments and to make remote electronic deposits.

The bank will use Merchant Capture to enable a number of their commercial customers to remotely capture check images and securely transmit electronic deposits to a consolidation server at the bank.

Additionally, the bank will license Merchant Remit in two environments:

• To enable the bank's IT department to provide full lockbox and remittance services for an insurance company customer, and
• To enable a telephone company customer to process checks and coupons at their location and transmit an electronic image deposit in x.9 format to the bank.

All check image files generated by DataTrade software are converted to x.9 file format and transmitted to the bank's core processor, DCI in Hutchinson Kansas, for processing and clearing.

The bank's information technology manager, Bryce Brewer, stated that DataTrade's software would enable the bank to generate new customers beyond the bank's physical footprint and provide existing customers with new services that would improve their treasury operations. "We believe that this software will allow us to attract new customers that were out of our reach just a few years ago," he added.

Clay Hamlet, president of DataTrade, noted that Peoples Bank & Trust is one of the first customers to employ DataTrade's whole range of image based payment processing systems ranging from in-house remittance lockbox to downstream remote customer services. "It is gratifying to see our software being used strategically to generate new business as well as improving operations and customers service," he said.
